A Conversation with Lt. Governor Mike Parson (R)

by Mike Ferguson

(St. Charles, MO) – In our ongoing series of conversations with state leaders, Lt. Governor Mike Parson (R) joins us this week and gives us his take on where we are economically and politically as a state and what he hopes to see for Missouri in the future.

Among the topics covered is Missouri’s effort to attract Amazon’s “HQ2” and the tens of thousands of jobs that will come with it. While Parson wants the Show Me State in the running for the project, he expresses concern about the incentives that may be needed to be selected. Parson also discusses his “Buy MO” initiative that hopes to let shoppers know which products are made in Missouri. That, he believes, could help support local businesses.

Also discussed are recent comments from state lawmakers that highlight the toxicity many believe defines our current state of politics and cultural conversations.
