AUDIO SOUND BITE: AIM President Ray McCarty Comments on HB 253 Override Effort

Depending on who you ask, it’s either definitely going to happen or it doesn’t have a chance.

I’m talking about the override of Governor Jay Nixon’s veto  of a Republican tax cut bill. That plan would gradually reduce personal and business income taxes over several years. On “Missouri Viewpoints”, Associated Industries of Missouri President Ray McCarty is pushing for an override, saying we need it to be competitive with some surrounding states.

Nixon says the plan could put education and social service funding in danger. The state legislature’s annual veto session is next month. Republicans will need almost every one of their House members to override the veto.
