AUDIO SOUND BITE: AIM’s McCarty Says History Supports Tax Cut Idea

The annual veto session is almost here and the battle over a proposed tax cut is not over. Governor Jay Nixon vetoed the Republican-led plan to reduce personal and business taxes over several years, saying it’s too risky for education and social services.

Associated Industries of Missouri President Ray McCarty wants lawmakers to override that veto. He says the idea of cutting taxes to improve the economy isn’t new.

The veto session begins next Wednesday. The tax bill in question is officially called House Bill 253.
