AUDIO SOUND BITE: Bearden Says Less Gov’t Is Needed For Better Health Care

Lawmakers in Congress and in the State Legislature continue to debate the expansion of government health care programs. Here in Missouri, supporters of expanding Medicaid say doing so would cover hundreds of thousands of Missourians who currently have no health insurance.

Former Republican State Representative Carl Bearden is against expansion. He says getting rid of federal mandates that make providing insurance in the private sector is the way to go.

Bearden now runs United for Missouri and was recently on “Missouri Viewpoints.” Missouri lawmakers rejected the Medicaid expansion proposal last year.
