AUDIO SOUNDBITE: MO BBB Warns About Email Scams

There’s a glitch with your online banking or maybe your broker needs to update your files for tax reasons. Those are just some of the claims a con artist might use to trick you into giving them your personal or financial information.

Their email may look real and even have your bank’s logo. But Tracy Hardgrove from the Better Business Bureau says there’s a better idea than replying.

That’s from “Missouri Viewpoints.” Hardgorve says the scam sometimes comes in the form of an email from what appears to be a government agency, like the I-R-S.
