AUDIO SOUNDBITE: Renew Missouri Opposes KCP&L Request-2

One of Missouri’s largest power companies wants a break from paying so much in rebates to some customers. Kansas City Power and Light says the solar energy rebate program will cost them over 50-million dollars this year. The company wants to limit that to 21-million a year.

Those rebates are required by 2008’s “Proposition C” and cover part of the cost of installing solar power systems on homes and businesses. Renew Missouri Director P-J Wilson wants regulators to deny the request, saying the rebates are money well spent.

That’s from “Missouri Viewpoints.” The rebates are available to customers of K-C-P-and-L and Ameren.
