(St. Charles, MO) – Now that the state’s Supreme Court denied an effort to toss it off the ballot, you will decide the fate of the “Raise Your Hand For Kids” tobacco tax increase proposal.
That would phase in an increase of 60-cents over the next four years. The money, if the proposal is approved by voters, will fund early childhood education, health care projects and support programs that help people stop smoking.
RYH4K’s Jane Dueker argues for the proposal. United for Missouri’s Carl Bearden, a former State Representative, explains why he thinks it’s a bad idea.
The proposal is on your ballot as Amendment 3.
